Biography

Michael has been a Registered Nurse since 1988 and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner since 1993. Currently is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington College of Nursing, where she enjoys teaching, Holistic Health Assessment to Registered Nurse in the RN-BSN. She also teaches Vulnerable population and health disparities topics for the DNP Program. She continues to practice as a Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Colposcopist, and owns her own practice. Dr Michael has worked on the TNA Dist 4 Mock Trial Planning Committee for the past 3 years and serves on its board as well. Dr. Michael has many presentations, papers, and posters to her credit. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as well as the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health. She is presently serving as Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society Delta Theta Chapter President. She serves as a Mentor in the STTI and Elsevier Foundation’s NFLA program. She was the University of Texas at Arlington School of Nursing’s nominee for Provost Award in 2006, 2007 and 2011. She continues to visit India to teach and research topics in Nursing Education and health assessment. She is actively involved with National Association of Indian American Nurses and Indian American Nurses of North Texas (Dallas Chapter) and serves as President.
